Job Description :
The position is for skilled AIX professionals with developer skills to perform advanced technical support for world-wide customers. Employees will be working in the L2 team in the AIX Support Center. The L2 team is the primary interface between AIX Development and pSeries customers. The support professional will assist with problem diagnosis and determination of AIX software customers utilizing various pSeries hardware systems.

Tasks: Professional assistance and support is to be provided to IBM's customers. Based on reports generated by customers, both domestic and international, employees are responsible for locating potential defects in the AIX operating system. They must recreate problems in a lab environment and analyze AIX source code to determine the cause of the problem and also recommend changes to the AIX source code to fix the problem. Finally, employees must be able to formulate circumventions or work-arounds. Complete documentation and process adherence is required in the IBM RETAIN tool. All customer interaction is by email or by phone. Rotational pager duty is to be shared with team members. IBM will provide on-the-job education for internal tools as needed. Customer interaction and team work is expected to be of the highest quality.
